The small print
Terms
Short, because a hair salon does not need a contract. These are the four things worth agreeing in advance so neither of us is surprised.
What a quoted price means
The estimate this site gives you is the price we expect, and the ceiling is the number it will not pass for the service you booked. If your hair turns out to need something different once we see it, we stop and tell you before any of it happens, not afterwards on the bill. You can say no at that point and pay nothing.
Colour correction is the one exception, and the site says so wherever it appears: it is quoted as a range until we have seen your hair in person, because quoting it blind would be a guess dressed as a number.
Deposits and cancelling
Colour appointments over two hours hold a chair for most of a day, so we ask for a $50 e-transfer to book one. It comes off your total. Move it or cancel with 48 hours notice and it moves with you.
If you need to move an appointment, tell us as early as you can and it is not a problem. Repeated no-shows are the one thing that would make us ask for the full amount up front next time, and we would say so directly rather than quietly.
Running late
Fifteen minutes late is usually fine and we will tell you if it is not. Past that we may have to shorten the service so the next person is not paying for it.
If you are unhappy
Come back within a week and we will fix what we can at no charge. We would much rather do that than have you live with it or write about it. Hair has limits and we will be honest about which ones we hit, but the conversation starts from wanting it right.
Concept build
Mica Hair Studio is a fictional business created by Kootenay Made Digital to demonstrate what a salon website can do. Nothing here is a real offer, no appointment can actually be made, and no money changes hands.
